REPLICA FURNITURE

"The photos - and the real thing - are fantastic. We are so pleased with them and they have transformed our room. They look as though they were always there! Thanks again"

from our client who commissioned the furniture, East Sussex

One of a set of Westmorland 17th Century Style Carved Oak Dining Chairs. Designed and made for our clients 16th century oak panelled dining room and completing a matching set of carved oak armchairs (also in this section) and dining table (see tables section). A plainer (and therefore of lower status in the 17th century) version of the more lavish carved oak armchairs. The hand carved back panels and shaped cresting rails, although of simpler design, compliment the (more important!) armchairs. Note also the different seat panel and framework construction. The seat and table heights, together with table rail depth and top thickness, have been carefully worked out with the client, to achieve the most comfortable dining position.......not easy to achieve when trying to put together a mismatched set of antique chairs and dining tables.

This hand carved chair is now featured on our sister site, Early Oak Reproductions, with size, colour, finish and price options.
