ARCHITECTURAL
          WOODWORK |

| OAK
          STAIRCASE, handmade from reclaimed
old oak. Replacing an inappropriate and ugly white painted softwood
version, we completely re-designed these stairs, in a more sympathetic
style for this 17th century thatched Hampshire cottage. We accurately
measured and constructed a replica of the existing posts, surrounding
walls etc. in our workshop and built the new staircase to this temporary
structure to minimize installation problems and inconvenience whilst
at our clients home. The treads are made from solid blocks of oak cut
from carefully chosen ancient oak beams. |
