| REFURBISHMENT
WORKS TO A 16TH CENTURY VILLAGE HOUSE.
         This
project involved replacing missing oak members to the original timber
frame and inserting a framing of old oak to house a new hot water cylinder
and to provide an airing cupboard. The painted doors were made from
wide pine boards, nailed together, and have simple hand-cut scratch
mouldings to the joins. They are hung on hand-forged hinges and pintles.
After removing inappropriate modern ceiling coverings and unsightly
battens, the rooms were completely re-plastered, in keeping with the
original plasterwork of the house. |
